KabarJawa.com– A wave of deactivation of Health Insurance Contribution Assistance (PBI JK) recipients occurred in the Special Region of Yogyakarta.

A total of 159,707 National Health Insurance Program (JKN) participants are officially inactive in the process of updating social welfare data. This policy immediately attracted public attention because it touched on people’s basic rights to health services.

The DIY Social Service (Dinsos) noted that Gunungkidul Regency is the region with the highest number of inactive participants.

Deactivation Rate

The number of deactivations in the region reached 56,087 participants, a number that far exceeds other districts and cities in DIY. This condition emphasizes the existence of inequality in welfare data which still requires serious improvement.

After Gunungkidul, Sleman Regency is in second place with 34,143 non-active PBI JK participants. Then Bantul Regency with 31,965 participants, Yogyakarta City with 22,304 participants, and Kulon Progo Regency as the area with the fewest number of deactivations, namely 15,208 participants.

The Head of the DIY Social Service, Endang Patmintarsih, emphasized that this deactivation was not carried out haphazardly. The government uses Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS) as the main reference in determining the eligibility of PBI JK recipients.

“PBI JK is only given to residents who fall into decile 1 to decile 5 DTKS. If a resident is no longer in that group, the system automatically deactivates their participation,” said Endang.

Endang explained that the process of updating this data aims to ensure that state assistance is right on target and only received by people who really need it. The government is trying to avoid inaccurate distribution of aid which could reduce the rights of other poor people.

PBI JK Participant Reactivation Mechanism in DIY

However, the DIY Social Service does not close the door to residents who feel they are still worthy of receiving assistance. Endang ensures that PBI JK participants who fall into decile 1 to decile 5 still have the opportunity to become active again through the reactivation mechanism.

“The public can apply for reactivation of membership to their respective district or city Social Services,” he explained.

In the reactivation process, residents are required to prepare a number of important documents. Endang said that applicants must bring a Family Card (KK), Resident Identification Card (KTP), and a Certificate of Inadequacy (SKTM). This document is administrative evidence to reassess the applicant’s socio-economic condition.

Endang emphasized that the Social Service will process each application objectively and based on field data. The government will not withhold the rights of citizens who meet the criteria.

“As long as residents apply for reactivation and are truly included in decile 1 to decile 5, PBI JK membership can definitely be reactivated,” said Endang.

Through this policy, the DIY Regional Government hopes that the community will become more active in monitoring the status of their JKN membership.

Social Services also appealed to residents to immediately coordinate with the local government so as not to lose access to health services which are vital for daily life. (ef linangkung)
