KabarJawa.com – ASTON Gejayan Yogyakarta Hotel & Conference Center held Training and Fire Drill Simulation activities on 11 May 2026 as an effort to strengthen preparedness for emergency fire situations in the hotel environment. Activities taking place in collaboration with Sleman Regency Fire Department The entire hotel team from various departments participated in this to increase understanding of work safety procedures and handling emergency conditions.
The training presented Sumarjono from Damkar Sleman as the main speaker. In the training session, participants received education regarding the initial steps for handling fires, the use of light fire extinguishers (APAR), evacuation procedures, and live simulations of emergency fire conditions in the hotel area.
Fire Simulation Involves All Hotel Departments
The fire drill activity was interactive by combining theory sessions and field practice. All participants were directly involved in an evacuation simulation which was designed to resemble real emergency conditions in a hotel work environment.
Through this simulation, the hotel team is trained to understand fast, precise and structured coordination patterns when dealing with emergency situations. Apart from that, training also aims to build the readiness of individuals and teams so they are able to take effective initial action before handling officers arrive at the location.

In his presentation, Sumarjono explained various important steps that employees must understand when a fire occurs. The material provided includes techniques for using APAR, self-rescue procedures, and procedures for evacuating guests safely and in an orderly manner.
Participants were also invited to understand the importance of communication and coordination between departments when facing emergency conditions. Field simulations are carried out so that each team knows their respective roles so that the evacuation process can run more quickly and in a more focused manner.
With this training, all employees are expected to have basic skills in dealing with potential fires and be able to maintain the safety of guests and co-workers in the hotel environment.
