Drove fast in the corner, L300 hit the elementary wall in Bantul to wrecked, the driver broke the hand

KABARJAWA – The sound of a loud impact broke the silence Saturday, August 9, 2025 in the morning in Nganyang Hamlet, Bantul, when a unit of the Mitsubishi L300 drove fast, lost control at a sharp corner, and hit the walls of SD Banyakan.

This single accident made a wrecked car, while the driver, a 19 -year -old teenager from Temanggung, suffered a broken bone in the right hand.

Head of Bantul Police Public Relations Section, AKP I Nengah Jeffry Prana Widnyana, revealed that the Piyungan Sector Police Lantas Unit immediately received a report from residents regarding the single accident. The report entered around 09.40 WIB, shortly after the incident occurred.

The L300 car was driven by Ginting Pangestu (19), a resident of Gedangan Hamlet, Bansari Village, Bulu District, Temanggung.

The teenager suffered serious injuries with a broken bone in the right hand. Medical officers immediately evacuated victims to Hardjolukito RSPau to get intensive care.

The seconds of a single accident in front of the school

Based on eyewitnesses, continued AKP I Nengah Jeffry, the car drove from south to north. When entering the winding lane in front of many elementary schools, the driver seemed to lose control.

The L300 did not have time to brake well and immediately hit the school barrier wall.

The hard impact broke the windshield and crushed the front body of the car. The sound of the impact echoed around the location, making teachers and students who were active at school surprised.

Some residents immediately ran to the location to provide help.

As a result of the accident, the L300 car suffered severe damage. The windshield broke into pieces, the front body of the wrecked was severe, and the engine part was damaged. However, there were no casualties other than drivers who suffered broken bones.

Police actions and safety appeals

Piyungan Police Unit officers immediately do the crime scene and regulate traffic so that congestion does not occur around the location.

They also recorded witness statements and examined road conditions. From the results of the initial examination, the accident was strongly suspected to occur due to the driver driving at high speed at a dangerous corner.

According to AKP I Nengah Jeffry, this accident is a strong reminder for drivers to always control the speed of the vehicle, especially in the winding lane and near the school area.

Besides endangering yourself, excessive speed also threatens the safety of other road users and local residents.

The police urge the whole community to be more careful, check the condition of the vehicle before leaving, and adjusting speed with road conditions.
