PSIM wants to use the Sultan Agung Bantul Stadium as a homebase, Bantul Regency Government is waiting for the DIY Regional Police

KABARJAWA – PSIM Yogyakarta wants the Sultan Agung Stadium (SSA) Bantul to be their homebase in the BRI Super League 2025/2026 competition.

The pride of the Laskar Mataram club by submitting a permission to use SSA to the Bantul Regency Government (Pemkab) through the Department of Education, Youth and Sports (Disdikpora).

The Head of Bantul Disdikpora, Nugroho Eko Setyanto, confirmed that PSIM had indeed submitted the official request.

Nugroho stated that his party immediately followed up on the submission by conducting a deep study.

“Yes, the submission is there. PSIM submitted the use of SSA as a homebase of BRI Super League 2025/2026,” Nugroho said in a serious tone on Thursday (24/7/2025).

Bantul Regency Government did not immediately grant PSIM’s request. Nugroho stressed that his party asked the club nicknamed Laskar Mataram to make an assessment first.

Bantul Regency Government wants to ensure the condition of the stadium building is safe and feasible, especially if PSIM is holding a match with full spectators.

“Yesterday we had conveyed it to the Regent through the Assistant of the Regional Secretariat of Bantul Regency,” said Nugroho.

Assistant Government and People’s Welfare of the Regional Secretariat of Bantul Regency, Hermawan Setiaji, also confirmed the news.

Hermawan admitted that the Bantul Regency Government had held a special meeting to discuss the submission of a permit to use SSA by PSIM. He asserted that the meeting took place tough because it involved aspects of the safety of the audience and the security of the stadium.

“We have been meeting, the meeting yesterday,” said Hermawan.

Hermawan revealed that the Bantul Regency Government decided to give permission if PSIM had submitted the results of the assessment as a whole.

Basis for granting permits

According to him, the assessment must include building feasibility, supporting facilities, as well as the possibility of using the stadium with the audience.

“The attitude of the Regency Government is clear. The Regency Government gives permission that the results of the assessment already exist. The assessment from PSIM, those who have to do, both in terms of building eligibility and questions may be used with the audience,” said Hermawan.

Hermawan added that the Bantul Regency Government also asked for consideration from the Regional Police (Polda) DIY. Bantul Regency Government wants to ensure that security aspects are met.

He stressed that this decision making for the safety of thousands of supporters who would fill the stadium during the match.

“The principle is that the Regency Government does not mind, it’s just that there must be an assessment first. All of this is for the consideration of the safety of the audience,” said Hermawan in a firm voice.

On the other hand, PSIM management hopes that the Bantul Regency Government will immediately provide certainty of the permission to use SSA. PSIM management assessed that SSA was the most ready stadium for the highest caste match of the Indonesian League.
