KabarJawa.com – The DIY Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD DIY) proposed an extension of the Hydrometeorological Disaster Emergency Alert status to Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X.
This submission was made following the uncertain weather conditions during the transition period.
The Chief Executive of BPBD DIY, Agustinus Ruruh Haryata, said that the application letter had been sent and was currently still in the administrative process within the regional government.
“The governor has received the extension letter, it is possible that it is currently still being processed at the DIY Regional Secretariat’s Legal Bureau,” he said, Sunday (3/5/2026).
Unstable Weather During Transition
BPBD DIY assesses that weather conditions in the last few days have shown changing patterns.
Heavy rain can occur suddenly and be followed by scorching heat in a short time.
This condition has the potential to trigger hydrometeorological disasters such as strong winds, local flooding and fallen trees.
Therefore, BPBD proposes extending the emergency alert status until May 15 2026.
Extreme Weather Impact Events
An extreme weather event occurred in the Sleman area on Wednesday (29/4/2026).
Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds caused damage to dozens of buildings, including residents’ houses, livestock pens and public facilities.
This incident is one of the basic considerations in applying for an extension of the emergency alert status.
BMKG analysis
BPBD also refers to analysis from the Yogyakarta Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG).
Head of the DIY Climatology Station, Reni Kraningtyas, said that rainfall in early to mid-May is estimated to be in the low category.
He explained that the trend of decreasing rainfall is expected to continue for the next few months, with conditions below normal until July.
“In the next three months, rainfall in the DIY area will decrease further,” he said.
BMKG also predicts that the peak of the dry season will occur in August until around the second half of October to early November.
Impact on Other Sectors
Apart from potential disasters, this condition also has an impact on the agricultural sector.
BMKG urges farmers to adjust planting patterns to anticipate the risk of crop failure.
BPBD DIY stated that it would continue to improve cross-sector coordination and educate the public.
This effort was made to minimize the impact of disasters during the transition period.
It is hoped that the extension of the emergency alert status can strengthen regional preparedness in facing the potential for extreme weather that is still ongoing.
PakarPBN
A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.
In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.
The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
