Tragic! Molen banana traders in Rongkop are seriously injured due to being hit by a truck

Rongkop police chief, AKP Sigit Tedja Kusuma, explained that the incident began when the Isuzu NMR 71T HD truck numbered AD-1348-HU drove from the direction of Baran to Wonosari.

At the same time, a Kijang Innova G.AT car with police number B-1472-VUI came out of a pharmacy on the right side of the road and tried to cut the path.

The collision was inevitable. The hard impact between the truck and the Innova car made the truck driver, Heru Pamungkas, panicked and slammed the steering wheel to the left.

Within seconds, the truck crashed into Edi’s Molen banana merchandise which was on guard on the side of the road.

The hard impact made Edi’s body bounce and suffered serious injuries. The police noted the victim suffered a broken bone on the right hand, broken right foot, wound on the face, and torn on the right waist.

Although in a conscious condition, the victim was immediately referred to Panti Rahayu Hospital, Karangmojo, to get intensive medical treatment.

“The victim suffered quite severe injuries, but still in a conscious state. We have evacuated the victim to the hospital and contacted the family,” said AKP Sigit Tedja Kusuma.

Due to accidents

This accident involved two drivers. The Isuzu truck driver named Heru Pamungkas, a man from Wonogiri, was born in 2000 who works as a daily loose laborer.

Meanwhile, the Kijang Innova driver named Supratman, a man born in 1986 from Rongkop, Gunungkidul.

Two local residents witnessed the incident. Instead of Hikmat Hardika, the owner of the house at the scene, and Ernanto, an entrepreneur from Nglindur, witnessed the seconds of the truck to hit the fence of the house to damage the victim’s merchandise.

In addition to injuring traders, this accident also caused a small material loss. The witness’s house fence collapsed. Molen banana cart along with the contents of the merchandise destroyed.

The rear glass of a Honda Jazz car parked at the residents’ house broke, and two motorbikes were damaged in the back.

Not only that, the front of the Isuzu truck was wrecked, while the Kijang Innova car was dented in the front left due to a hard impact.

Once receiving the report, the police from the Rongkop Sector Police immediately went to the scene.

The police evacuated the victims, recorded the identity of witnesses and drivers, and secured the vehicles involved in the accident. This case was then transferred to the Gunungkidul Regional Police Station for further processing.

“We have taken a quick action, starting from helping the victim, securing evidence, to reporting the case to the Gunungkidul Regional Police Station,” said AKP Sigit.

AKP Sigit emphasized that this tragic incident again reminded the public that the Bedoyo-Baran road section was prone to accidents, especially at dense traffic hours.
