The body of a man from Temon Kulon Progo was found floating under the Glagah Bridge, there were head wounds and bruises

KABARJAWA – Kulon Progo residents were shocked by the discovery of the body of a man who floated under the Glagah Bridge, Temon, Kulon Progo, on Wednesday morning, July 23, 2025 at 07.40 WIB. The poor man is known as HS, 36 years old, a resident of Temon, Kulon Progo.

A witness who was throwing garbage around the northern river of the Glagah Bridge first found the body. The witness saw a white lorek red item floating on the surface of the water. The witness thought the object was just a clothing trash that was washed away.

The witness then watched the object carefully. The witness was surprised when he realized the object he thought was a human being. The man was wearing a white lorek red shirt and had not moved at all.

The witness immediately trembled and panicked. The witness contacted SAR members to report the discovery of the corpse. SAR officers immediately drove to the location after receiving reports from residents.

The SAR team evacuated the man’s body from the river with caution. Police officers from the Kulon Progo Police Station also secured the location to avoid curious crowd.

Head of Public Relations of the Kulon Progo Police Station, Iptu Sardjoko, explained that the victim suffered a torn wound and bruises on the front of the head. The police confirmed that the victim was in a dead condition when found.

The police officers immediately did the crime scene and examined witnesses to uncover the exact cause of the death of the victim. The police also brought the victim’s body to the hospital for further post mortem and autopsy.

Iptu Sardjoko asserted that his party would explore all possibilities related to the cause of death of the victim. The police will check the victim’s track record before being found dead.

Officers will also explore the information of the family and close colleagues of the victim to reveal the mystery behind the death of HS with a head injury.

Local residents claimed to be very surprised by the incident. Many residents gathered around the bridge to witness the evacuation process of HS’s body.

The police urge the public not to speculate carelessly regarding the cause of death of the victim. The police asked residents to fully submit the handling of this case to the authorities so that the investigation process went smoothly.
