Creating an Adblocker VPN with OpenVPN + Adguardhome on NAT VPS

Natvps.id – You can install OpenVPN and Adguardhome servers to create your personal Adblocker VPN. In addition to adding network security, you can also use this VPN as an unwanted ad block.

This article discusses the steps to create an Adblocker VPN with Adguardhome and OpenVPN in NAT VPS. This article uses Ubuntu 22.04 as a reference, but you can use other distributions such as Debian and Centos.

Port forwarding configuration

Considering we use grout, we need to add Port forwarding configuration on the virtualizor panel for OpenVPN.

This article will use Port 19015. You are free to change the port according to your choice. Record this port, because we will use it again in the installation process.

Install Adguardhome

Please see the Adguardhome installation tutorial before starting. OpenVPN will later use DNS from Adguardhome to block advertisements.

Install OpenVPN

Run manuscript OpenVPN Automatic Installation Made in the Community:

curl  -Lo openvpn-install.sh

FORCE_NAT=1 bash openvpn-install.sh

Wait until the installation process is complete.
