Gunungkidul Regent Endah Subekti Kuntariningsih claimed to have received many complaints from residents. He asserted that the Regency Government will immediately review the quality of CCTV in order to maximize the supervisory function.

“CCTV can indeed capture images, but the person is not identified clearly. People steal carrying running away, but the container does not look detailed,” he added.

Endah also claimed to have alluded to the regulation on CCTV management regulations and their application needs. He explained that the evaluation process was still running because the Regency Government had to adjust various technical and regulatory aspects that apply.

“The application turns out to be online. We will ask the Secretary, the Assistant, and the bicycle to see that if we help friends who manage it is also not wrong,” Endah said.

He added, procurement and optimization of CCTV requires evaluation and adjustment at the district level.

Endah explained, if the evaluation was completed next year, the realization of CCTV optimization in new traditional markets could be carried out at the fastest in 2026.

“Although we have been perfected in the institution in the DPRD and consult, the application is still in process. The activities are also waiting for evaluation. The fastest 2026,” explained Endah.

Vulnerable points

In addition to the market, Endah also highlighted other vulnerable points such as sharp turns, inclines, tourist areas, and parking fees. According to him, the whole area requires high quality CCTV supervision.

“We want CCTV to be installed in the market, bend, climbs, and tourism areas. Its function is to replace our eyes. If something happens, CCTV can help uncover the culprit,” Endah said.
