DIY Regional Police Deploys 980 Personnel in Operation Zebra Progo 2025, Regional Police Chief Affirms Zero Accident Principle

KabarJawa.com – The Yogyakarta Special Region Police held a Ceremony for the 2025 Zebra Progo Operation Troop with full formation and an orderly atmosphere at the DIY Police Headquarters, Monday (17/11/2025).

DIY Regional Police Chief Inspector General Anggoro Sukartono, SIK, directly led the rally which marked the start of the annual operation. All levels of leadership were present, including the Deputy Chief of the DIY Regional Police, Brigadier General Pol Eddy Djunaedi, SIK, the main officials of the DIY Regional Police, as well as hundreds of joint personnel from various police functions.

The DIY Regional Police Chief said that the rally was an important momentum to ensure that all elements, both personnel and supporting facilities, were in a condition ready to carry out operations.

“This call was carried out as a final check on the readiness of personnel and supporting infrastructure so that operations can run optimally and successfully,” said the Regional Police Chief.

The solemn roll call was a symbol of the Yogyakarta Regional Police’s commitment to carrying out operations in a planned, measurable and community safety-oriented manner.

Implementation of Operations for 14 Days and Enforcement Methods

The Regional Police Chief explained that the Zebra Progo Regional Police Operation 2025 will last for 14 days, from 17 to 30 November 2025, and targets the entire jurisdiction of the Yogyakarta Regional Police. This operation is part of a national agenda carried out simultaneously by all regional police.

The Yogyakarta Regional Police implemented preemptive, preventive and law enforcement measures through manual tickets, electronic tickets and sympathetic warnings. All these efforts are directed at creating safe, orderly and orderly traffic conditions.

“We are carrying out all these efforts to create order and increase public discipline in traffic,” added the Regional Police Chief.

A total of 980 personnel were deployed in Operation Zebra Progo 2025. They were alerted to target various forms of violations that could potentially trigger accidents. Main targets include:

  • Underage driver
  • Motorbikes carrying more than one person
  • Rider without SNI helmet
  • Driver without seat belt
  • Offense goes against the grain
  • Drivers who exceed the speed limit
  • Driver under the influence of alcohol
  • Cell phone use while driving

Officers also pay high attention to illegal racing activities which are considered disturbing the public and threatening the safety of other road users.

The action was taken to reduce the number of accidents and strengthen the culture of orderly traffic in DIY.

In front of nearly a thousand personnel, the DIY Regional Police Chief placed special emphasis on attitudes and work standards while on duty. He asked all members to plan every step carefully, carry out their duties with great care, and carry out regular evaluations.

The Regional Police Chief also reminded that operations should continue to be carried out in a humane manner, including providing education to the public.

“Carry out operations professionally, proportionally and humanely. Every personnel is obliged to adhere to the principle of zero accident. There is no successful operation that is more important than the safety of members and the public,” he stressed.

With the involvement of 980 personnel, the Yogyakarta Regional Police wants to ensure that efforts to create traffic security, safety, order and smooth traffic are consistent and have a real impact.
