KabarJawa.com — The working atmosphere at CV Sahabat Prima Mulya, Pundong, Bantul, changed drastically after the revelation of alleged embezzlement by HRD staff, GTW (Gumarang Tito Wicaksono, 35).
The incident, which has been circulating since June 2025, is now entering the legal process after the Pundong Police arrested the suspect on Wednesday, October 15 2025.
Pundong Police Chief, AKP Rumpoko, confirmed the designation of GTW as a suspect in the crime of embezzlement in office as stipulated in Article 374 of the Criminal Code, which carries a penalty of five years in prison.
“We arrested the suspect after disappearing for several months. “He is suspected of embezzling employee salaries and taking away a laptop belonging to the company without permission,” said AKP Rumpoko, Monday (20/10/2025).
This case began on Tuesday, June 10 2025, when GTW borrowed a HP 2400 G7 laptop from the digital marketing room for work reasons.
There are no suspicions because the person concerned is known to be thorough and polite while working.
Suspicions began to arise when the laptop was not returned for more than a week.
The situation worsened on June 20 2025, when GTW was given the task of distributing salaries amounting to IDR 6,189,000 for 20 employees, but the workers never received the money.
“Since June 21, the person concerned has not returned to work and cannot be contacted. “All contacts are completely dead,” said the Sector Police Chief.
The main director of CV Sahabat Prima Mulya then carried out an inventory and financial audit. From the results of the inspection, the company suffered a loss of IDR 8,589,000, consisting of lost laptops and salaries that were not distributed.
An official report was submitted to the Pundong Police on July 24 2025 with the number LP/B/11/VII/2025/SPKT/PUNDONG POLSEK/BANTUL POLRES/DIY POLDA.
The evidence handed over to investigators included a laptop purchase receipt, six fixed-term work agreements, two suspect pay slips, and an inventory audit report.
“From the results of the investigation, the suspect used his position to control the company’s goods and money. “He took advantage of the trust of directors and colleagues for personal gain,” said AKP Rumpoko.
Arrest and Legal Process Continue
After the report was received, the Pundong Police Criminal Investigation Unit carried out a search based on digital traces and information from the public.
Nearly three months later, GTW was successfully arrested in the Yogyakarta City area on October 15 2025 at 17.00 WIB.
During the arrest, police only found one pair of black and white Nike shoes belonging to the suspect’s personal possession. The company’s laptop was not found and was thought to have been sold.
““The suspect’s motive is clear, namely he wants to gain personal profit by embezzling company inventory and money,” explained AKP Rumpoko.
Until now, investigators are still investigating the alleged transfer of the laptop and the possible involvement of other parties.
This case is a warning for companies to be more selective in providing access to finance and inventory to employees, even to employees who have worked for a long time.
The police emphasized their commitment to taking firm action against perpetrators of embezzlement in office.
“We will still process anyone who abuses our trust for personal gain according to the law. “Trust in the world of work is expensive, and the law will protect those who are harmed,” said AKP Rumpoko.
GTW is now officially detained at the Pundong Police and awaiting further legal proceedings.
Meanwhile, the company has begun to restore administrative and financial systems to prevent similar incidents from recurring.
