500 joint personnel deployed secure the hot match of PSIM vs Persib Bandung at the Sultan Agung Bantul Stadium

KABARJAWA – The hot atmosphere of the match between PSIM Yogyakarta and Persib Bandung will roll at the Sultan Agung Stadium (SSA), Bantul, Sunday (8/24/2025) at 15.30 WIB.

Bantul Police Chief, AKBP Novita Eka Sari, emphasized that his party had prepared a tight security scenario.

Novita explained that the joint personnel came from the DIY Regional Police, Satbrimobda, Bantul Police Station, the ranks of Police, and other related agencies.

They not only maintain the game in the stadium, but also secure every vital point that is prone to cause friction between supporters.

“They will be placed at the entrances, the stand area, the location of the match, to the stadium outline. In fact, security is also carried out in the area around the stadium so that there is no gap in chaos,” Novita explained.

In addition to maintaining security, the police are also tasked with regulating the flow of traffic around the Sultan Agung Stadium. Thousands of supporters from two teams are predicted to throng SSA.

The police prepare traffic engineering to anticipate severe traffic jams that can paralyze the main route of Bantul.

The police also issued a strong appeal for supporters who were present. Novita asked supporters of PSIM and Persib not to carry dangerous and forbidden goods.

“We emphasize that no one is carrying firecrackers, flares, sharp weapons, or alcoholic drinks into the stadium. All items can trigger a commotion and endanger the safety of others,” Novita said.

He also hopes that supporters maintain their attitude. Support may be burning, but may not turn into anarchism.

He asked supporters to remain polite, do not damage public facilities, and do not let the actions of a handful of people tarnish the good name of the club’s pride.

Anticipate the convoy after the game

Not only security in the match, the police also anticipated excessive euphoria after the match was over. Novita asserted, his party banned a convoy of vehicles that could potentially disrupt public order.

“We appeal to supporters not to carry out convoys after the match. The convoy will only cause congestion and open up opportunities for friction between groups. It’s better to go home in an orderly manner, because security and comfort are the responsibility of all of us,” he said.

The match between PSIM vs Persib holds high tension. This brings together a traditional club with a fanatical supporting base.
