Three strategic seats are up for grabs, bureaucratic dynamics are getting hotter

KabarJawa.com– The Gunungkidul Regency Government has finally started the bureaucratic reform engine by opening an open selection for Primary or echelon II High Leadership Positions (JPT) at the end of March 2026.

This step does not just fill vacant positions, but also provides a big stage for officials to show their leadership capacity, integrity and vision.

Amid the urgent need for solid leadership, the government moved quickly. They started a transparent and competitive process to ensure every strategic position was filled by the best figure.

Gunungkidul Position Auction 2026

Head of the Gunungkidul Regional Personnel, Education and Training Agency, Iskandar, revealed that since 2025 there will be five vacant echelon II positions. This vacancy triggers the need to accelerate filling so that the wheels of government continue to run optimally.

However, the government does not immediately fill all these positions at once. They chose a gradual strategy by opening three positions first.

  1. Head of Social Services, Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection
  2. Head of the Civil Service Police Unit
  3. Director of Wonosari Regional Hospital

Meanwhile, two other positions, Assistant for Government and People’s Welfare and Head of the Regional Research and Innovation Planning Agency (Bapperida), are still in the discussion stage.

“We are still reviewing the two positions that have not yet been opened, whether they will be filled through open selection or a transfer mechanism from other high-ranking officials,” stressed Iskandar.

The Gunungkidul Regency Government designed a selection process with strict and systematic stages. Each participant must pass a series of exams that test administrative skills to strategic leadership.

Following are the complete stages.

  • March 30 – April 13, 2026: Registration
  • 13 – 19 April 2026: Administrative selection
  • April 20 2026: Announcement of administrative results
  • April 22, 2026: Paper writing
  • 27 – 28 April 2026: Competency test
  • 29 – 30 April 2026: Presentation and interview
  • 20 – 30 April 2026: Track record search
  • May 5, 2026: Medical exam
  • May 8, 2026: Final announcement

Each stage screens candidates objectively. The government demands that participants are not only academically intelligent, but also have a clean track record and proven leadership abilities.

The bureaucratic dynamics in Gunungkidul do not stop with the five vacant positions. As of April 1 2026, the Head of the Transportation Service will officially enter retirement. This condition immediately adds to the list of seats that must be filled immediately.

It doesn’t stop there, on May 1 2026, another strategic position will also be vacant. The head of the District Community Empowerment, Population Control and Family Planning Service is scheduled to retire.

This situation creates a domino effect that requires the government to continue to be adaptive and responsive in maintaining organizational stability.

Reform Momentum and Integrity Test

This open selection became more than just an administrative procedure. The government is making it a momentum for real bureaucratic reform.

They want to ensure that every elected official is able to bring about change, not just fill an empty seat.
