5,007 portions to break the MURI record, giving birth to a healthy coronary warm

KABARJAWA- The Yogyakarta City Government broke the National Record by presenting 5,007 portions of warm in the culinary festival of a million tasted coconut sugar in South Square, Saturday (5/7/2025).

The Yogyakarta Gudeg Entrepreneurs Association fully supports the implementation of the Festival that combines the culinary, culture and health.

Awards for the Gudeg Million Taste Festival

Thousands of residents packed the location of the festival since morning. The committee arranged thousands of gudeg portions made from young jackfruit or gori on a long table lined up neatly.

They prepared warm gudeg complete with sambal krecek tempeh, blondo, pindang eggs, and rice. The committee distributed the warm to the community for free.

Residents are enthusiastic waiting for their turn. They are willing to jostle to enjoy the legendary typical culinary of Yogyakarta. They consider Gudeg to have an authentic taste and cannot be replaced by even modern food.

The Indonesian World Record Museum (MURI) recognizes this achievement as a national record for the category of the most warm offerings.

Muri handed over an award charter to the Yogyakarta City Government as the initiator of the event. Yogyakarta Mayor Hasto Wardoyo accepted the charter in the midst of the applause of the people present.

Hasto Wardoyo emphasized that the government wanted to bring warm with a million flavors. He considered Yogyakarta had a million visitors whose tastes were diverse. Hasto wants a warm to adjust the tongue of all the guests who come to the city of Gudeg.

“Gudeg is not merely sweet. We can create a variety of flavors. We make sure the nutritional value is measurable, healthy, and remains good,” said Hasto.

New variant of warm

Hasto then introduced a new variant of Gudeg made from a banana heart. He called the banana heart warm by the name of the coronary warm.

According to him, coronary warm fiber and low cholesterol. He invited the public to try the new variant because of its good benefits for heart health.

“We make coronary warm from the heart of a banana that is high in fiber and minimal cholesterol. Coronary is a heart vessel that is often blocked cholesterol. With coronary warm, God willing, we can eat warm but stay healthy and safe,” Hasto explained.

On the sidelines of the Festival, the Head of the Yogyakarta City Tourism Office Wahyu Hendratmoko stressed that his party wanted to present various tourist attractions to welcome the long school holidays.

He called the culinary festival of a million -flavored coconut sugar as one of the strategies to attract tourists.

“We want tourists to be happy when visiting Yogyakarta. They can enjoy the activities, attractions and culinary specialties. This festival is one way to enrich their tourist experience in the city of Yogyakarta,” Wahyu explained.

Wahyu added that the Yogyakarta City Tourism Office in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing (FKKMK) UGM to create a healthier and more hygienic warm.

He emphasized that the warm variant of banana heart became a culinary innovation to meet the needs of today’s tourists who were more concerned with health.

“We use a banana heart as the main ingredient. The companion menu is tempeh, eggs, and areh. Hopefully the name Gudeg will be more legendary in the eyes and ears of foreign tourists and the archipelago,” Wahyu explained.

Meanwhile, Aditya, one of the residents who attended the Festival, said he was happy to taste the free gudeg dish.

He hopes that the government will hold a gudeg festival regularly. According to him, Gudeg is not only food, but cultural heritage that must be maintained its authenticity.

“This activity must be scheduled routinely. Gudeg is a symbol of the pride of Yogyakarta. There is no second, even in any country,” concluded Aditya. (EF Linangkung)
